Meet Our Staff
Lauren received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Seton Hall University. She began her career in Advertising and Promotions but quickly learned that her passion in life was not going to be found within a cubicle. She left corporate America to pursue a career working with pets and has been a full time pet sitter since opening Canine Concierge in 2004. She has inspired many of her friends to leave their desk jobs and pursue their dreams.
Lauren lives in Lake Parsippany with her husband, Gene; daughter, Gia; their cat, Autumn, and their many vacationing dog-guests! In recent years, with growing demand from pet owners wanting Lauren’s superior care for their pets, she was able to expand her business to include additional, highly-qualified pet sitters. Most of her time is spent managing her business. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys playing tennis, practicing yoga, reading, traveling, cooking and coming up with the next big idea! Lauren cares for pets in the Parsippany area as well as in her home. You can often hear her remarking, “This is too much fun to be called work!”

Dena A.
Senior Level Pet Care Specialist
Dena’s mother was a huge influence in her love for animals. Growing up she took care of cats and hamsters. Dena graduated college with Bachelor’s degree in Psychology but life took her down many paths. While working in a pet store, she acquired knowledge and hands on experience with dogs, cats, and small animals. She has provided care for many reptiles and she has experience with cold water fish, tropical fish as well as some knowledge of saltwater fish. She has also cared for a Senegal parrot a parakeet and a chinchilla of her own.
In 2002 Dena went down to the local shelter and asked to volunteer. At this time she now had 2 pit bulls that were rescued, a cat and 2 parrots. Not only did she volunteer but ended up becoming the Co-CEO. Dena learned that she loved people just as much as animals and was a pro at helping people pick out the perfect cat or dog. In the first couple of months she fostered a litter of kittens that turned into the greatest cats. One kitten never left the foster home and almost 18 years later she still gets to spend wonderful time with her! Dena understands the value of happy and healthy pets and people.
Dena is married with two children who now both attend middle school. She currently has a standard poodle that she learned to clip herself, a chiweenie with giant bat ears, a little gray old lady kitty, and an orange kitty.
Realizing that there really was this thing called spare time she acquired a position with Canine Concierge and is having a blast taking care of all these precious babies. Her favorite hobbies include drawing, painting, listening to books, podcasts, horror/thriller-suspense movies, Sci-Fi movies and big epic movies with lots of action and special effects. Contrary to popular opinion she also loves the winter and the snow. Her most favorite thing in the world is a nap with her dogs or cats.
Sydney R.
Senior Level Pet Care Specialist
Sydney is currently a student at the County College of Morris, studying to be a K-6th-grade teacher but is still exploring all avenues of possibility! She grew up with animals all her life, from having birds, hamsters, fish, turtles, dogs, and her first kitten just last year. She has a lot of pet care experience and Canine Concierge is happy to have found such a gem in Sydney. Her personal hobbies include hiking, adventuring, finding new music, and trying different foods (food is the key to her heart)! She currently has a dog named Shea, which her family rescued her from St. Hubert’s Animal Rescue, and Shea is one amazing pup; “She is so sweet but with a silly side!” As well as her dog, she just recently got a cat and couldn’t be happier!
Sydney’s previous jobs included working with kids as a kindergarten counselor for an after-school program as well as a cashier at a grocery store. She is outgoing and very energetic–a perfect fit for Canine Concierge and all our furry friends. “I promise to treat every animal like my own no matter what size or breed, as I believe all animals should be treated with all the love a person can give.”
Sara C.
Pet Care Specialist
Sara has a deep love for animals, and began pet sitting and dog walking as a weekend hobby because of it. She has always had dogs, and having just recently lost her beloved pup King, finds solace in visits with all her pup clients. She also just adopted a new fur baby named Sammi!
Sara has two wonderful kids, a 16-year-old daughter named Alyssa and a 12-year-old son named Dominick. Her family is a big part of her life. When she’s not working with animals, Sara enjoys beach outings, breakfasts with her kids, and has a special affinity for flamingos. Her favorite food is pizza, and she has a soft spot for the movie “Sweet Home Alabama” and 90’s music. She’s a true ’90’s gal! Alongside Canine Concierge, she works as a Closing Coordinator for a property management company and holds an associate’s degree from CCM.
Sara’s favorite part of working with Canine Concierge is the boundless love and excitement she receives from the animals she cares for when she walks into the room.
Jocelyn C.
Pet Care Specialist
Jocelyn has called Parsippany home for the past two years and is a proud pet parent to two cats, Mama and Recon. She’s always had a deep love for animals, growing up surrounded by dogs, especially pit bulls and German shepherds, though she’ll admit she’s more of a cat person now. Jocelyn’s experience with a wide range of pets has made her passionate about creating meaningful connections with each animal she cares for.
When she’s not busy with her furry friends, you can find her out in nature with friends, enjoying the fresh air and serenity. She’s a sushi lover, country music fan, and thinks fall is the best season of all. Her favorite part of working at Canine Concierge is getting to know the unique personalities of each pet and building trust with them during visits. Jocelyn believes every pet has its own story, and she’s dedicated to making them feel safe and loved while under her care.
Sarah G.
Pet Care Specialist & Social Media Manager
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Sarah moved to the US three years ago and currently lives in Boonton, New Jersey with her husband, Matt, and two cats (children), Bowie and Nicholas. She has her BA in Creative Writing from the University of Western Ontario, and while her 9-5 is spent working in brand marketing, her biggest passion has and always will be working with animals. Sarah grew up in a house full of cats and dogs (her dad works closely with a street dog rescue in Iran, and always has no less than 3 rescues in the family home at once), and is a self-proclaimed Cat Lady. When she’s not taking care of Bowie and Nicholas, she’s building outdoor shelters for the feral cats in Boonton and making sure they’re safe and warm all year long.
Sarah is an avid traveler and has visited over 30 countries, but the rest of her time she likes to keep things pretty low key. Her favorite way to spend an evening is relaxing at home with Matt and the cats, listening to classic rock and enjoying a glass of wine.
Doug T.
Pet Care Specialist
Doug joined Canine Concierge in April 2023. He has a BA in Politics from DeSales University and a MBA from the University of Maryland. He worked in an office setting for over 30 years and then retired. He wanted to continue working, but the idea of going back to an office was anything but appealing. So instead, Doug decided to pursue his passion and do what he wanted to do growing up: work with animals.
Doug lives in Parsippany with his wife Karen and their daughter Sydney, and he has loved the work he gets to do with Canine Concierge. Doug loves taking care of animals and
seeing the different personalities and traits each animal shows in the daily lives. This job also allows him to do one of the things that is important to him: exercise.
When he’s not spending time with his family or working with Canine Concierge, Doug loves to go out to eat (Chinese food and sushi are his favs!), watch movies and listen to Taylor Swift and Queen. He is also a BIG fan of fall weather, and is a self-proclaimed Pumpkin Spice Guy.
